Companies lost an estimated average of $3,565 per remote employee, while $2,833 goes down the toilet per in-office employee every year due to time spent in the bathroom while on the clock, according to the research.
Compared to what? An android that wouldn’t need to use the bathroom? Fearful slaves who would show up early to use the bathroom before work hours and hold it in until they’re off the clock?
Oftentimes, employees are simply using bathroom breaks as an excuse to take a siesta — one in five reportedly use it for that purpose.
I’m sure there are people who do this. They are nothing compared to smokers. Smokers are allowed to leave the building several times a day to feed their addiction. At least some of the ones who work from home will smoke at their desk instead of wandering off 8 times a day.
