It was a distinct and peculiar mass-movement from McReddit, at least for me. I forget exactly what McReddit did, but I'm sure it was censorship related. Fucking soy pumped cucks. Anyways, Voat was just an absolute breath of fresh air; though the air was recirculated from a sealed room of gassy crack whores and smoked out glowniggers, it was still something that was new and sorely needed.

It probably was the banning/quarantining of fat people hate or the Donald.

the Donald.

Nah, It was way before all that. I joined Voat something like 2 or three months after it started.

No kidding. Hell I only found it a few months before they shut down. Friend of mine recommended it. Wish I could have been there longer.

I looked into Voat during peak gamergate when I thought reddit was going to shut down KiA. They didn't shut down KiA and I decided voat were a bunch of nazis and didn't go back until they killed CringeAnarchy (rest in peace), at that point I was pretty pissed at those censorious juden fucks, so I nuked my account and went to voat. All of Voat/Poal on a good day is almost as good the front page of CringeAnarchy, the best was before they algo-fucked it and posts would get to the front page, then you could shit real hard on the lefties who would wandered into the comments, it was like exponential cringe satisfaction.

Probably the banning of r/GreatAwakening. That's when I joined Voat.
