What motivated you to create NodeTube if there was already PeerTube?

I didn't know about PeerTube, it was just starting out. And also I don't like PeerTube so I'm glad I did create NodeTube

Another suggestion: Option for videos in list view with description previews like BitChute channel pages have.

Another suggestion: Ability to show/hide playback controls manually (useful when the centered play button blocks text while paused).

Also, ability to display playback controls outside of the video player to remain permanently on screen.

Great work! Much appreciated!

Although there already is PlayTube (which powered Viduro, Verond, WorldTruth.Video and some more), that is proprietary. Your NodeTube is open-source and even supports audio and images.

And unlike BitChute, your uploader supports Drag&Drop and is much faster.

Suggestions

But I suggest the seek bar to appear one row above the playback controls on too narrow view ports.

And a manual speed selector (entering number), and a jump to time feature (enter time) would be good.

Another useful feature could be timestamp URLs. If possible, also work with units such as 21m57s.

Another convenient feature suggestion: Ability to regenerate thumbnail after accidentally overwriting it (for convenience).

And a comment linking feature like on YouTube could be useful too.
