From my experience with hundreds of SSD's, they slow down when filled to about 90% of capacity. As a rule, when replacing a hard drive, I use an SSD that is at least 240-GB, or when there is a lot of data, double the total size used on the existing hard drive. Most people only have 40 to 80-GB used on their computers storage drive. If you write to them a lot, it's best to have addtional capacity on an SSD as the individual cells can only take, typically, 3000 to 10,000 writes. There are no limits to how many times a cell can be read. Always disable hibernation and turn off indexing of file contents to help the drive last for many years.
mine is just over half fill filled i just have win10 and a few programs on it. then a few normal drives for storage.
Always disable hibernation and turn off indexing
i think i remember reading that, its been a couple years... I should check to make sure it wasnt switched back on. thanks
If it is, right mouse click on the Start button. Select Windows PowerShell (Admin). Type powercfg -h off. Tap the enter key, you're done.
i usually just sleep my pc, it looks like i was all good... i gotta get rid of that "team" bullshit they installed in a update, someday i'll get to it.
