I have personally grown weary of the hype surrounding AI. This is because every time some system does something "unexpected", the researchers believe this is because the machine "thought"... No, you retards, it's just that you didn't expect it.

immitate all it wants, it still doesn't have hunches on what seems unrelated material to form a conclusion. It also can't come up with something totally new unlike anything invented before. Sure it can go through a million trials and errors but only a human can have an epiphany without even trying with an idea coming out of no where.

Perhaps, AI attempts are just fertilizer to set the stage in the gen pop's mind to accept AI when it "happens." And by happens, I mean that they figure out a way to transfer a person's brain into a biologically based machine.
