I'm Uber pissed at my IT department, we have to buy our own hardware, which is fine, but they lock all of the applications through Shitrix, I have multiple paid copies of the full Adobe Acrobat (came bundled with a good scanner) and I can't use them anymore because they wont allow me to install my own damn software on my own damn PC.
If I have to buy my own hardware, you don't fucking get to "manage" it. I'll restrict it to a VM on my cluster at best. Fuck companies like that.
If it wasn't so uncomfortable to ditch them, and work around the non competitive clauses I signed in my contract with them, I would move all of my clients and be gone in a month.
Try Linux. Get fucked IT.
I've been told multiple times Citrix doesn't work on Linux, that is literally the only thing stopping me on my work PC.
Citrix Workspace app for Linux (formerly called Citrix Receiver) lets you access Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops delivered by a Citrix server from your Linux machine.
I’m assuming that the Citrix is a server farm with Citrix desktop instances.
But maybe they are loading Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) with a local VDA (Virtual Delivery Agent) then that basically takes total control of the hardware. It has Chang protection, forces roaming profiles and shit like that.
