Tech got bit by this with bitcoin. Everyone wanted cards to mine, so they made a ton of them. Then demand for mining disappeared and they had too many GPUs to sell. They won't increase capacity, they'll just milk it for what it's worth until AI pops then go back to selling the same old price.
