So continuing my raspberry pi offline download box project. I thought that Sonarr + SABNZBD plus a good .nzb source would be mostly automated once I imported shows from trakt.tv. Not so. I found out there is quite a bit of clicking and management to do just to get the files queued.

Based on my testing so far, it is MUCH easier to stream a Debrid source than it is to download via usenet w/ nzb. Less clicks, all can be done from remote of TV. But that is not ideally what I want.

I did find an app called TVLinker that is interesting. It basically will search shows and give you real-debrid links to them which you could then queue in aria or jdownloader on a schedule or with bandwidth limitations.

Unfortunately cannot get TVLinker to run properly. It is python based and damn, just a pain in the ass and won't run.....

Basically what I am looking at is to somehow easily collect real-debrid links to shows/movies I want to then queue them in a download manager to download when I'm sleeping. So far, TVLinker is the only thing I've found which comes close. Maybe I'm missing something? Anyone?

Background - bandwidth is limited / expensive for me, so streaming stuff is not ideal as it kills the connection for everyone else. Prefer paid solutions like usenet or real-debrid so can ensure connection is maxed out downloading during off hours.

And FWIW paying for debrid or usenet is WAY cheaper than upgrading bandwidth.

Ok you know how there are all those file sharing sites like rapidgator, nitroflare etc that when you try to download you have the "free" option that warns you it is a slow download and the "premium" option which runs at full speed? A debrid service allows you to download from sources like that at the premium speed without logging in or anything. Those debrid services also have huge caches so if you are getting a file that is new or popular, chances are you will get it from the cache, normally maxing out your connection.

I signed up for Real-debrid.com and it is like $3 a month and have been VERY impressed. Old shows, new shows, always find a source. Use incursion, gaia, neptune rising and placenta plugins. Mostly only incursion. Have ALWAYS found a debrid source to pull a video from. Plug in is populated from a trakt.tv account where I add shows to a collection and they then show up in my collection when I launch incursion.

It works much like netflix but instead of seeing a bunch of SJW crap for 10+ bucks a month, I see ONLY shows I have added in trakt.tv for 3 bucks a month. You can browse more than what is on your trakt.tv list.

It's really far superior to any sort of download system assuming you have the bandwidth. Try it, you'll never look back.
