Just imagine diverse hires handling the critical infrastructure. Or sabotaging it, like in the space station. Fucking X-Files episode right there.
I always thought it would be really interesting to work in a north/south pole research base. I knew someone I worked with that did IT/networking in the northpole. The only thing that was a no-go was I couldn't be away from wife/family for the time they wanted. I also found out later that basically everyone on the base cheats like fucking crazy. Not my thing and that made me even less interested.
