Always interesting to see what drives are doing the best. I wish more companies did this kind of data gathering and public reporting.

We removed from this analysis 4,279 boot drives, consisting of 3,307 SSDs and 972 hard drives. This leaves us with 279,572 hard drives under management to examine for this report. We’ll review their annualized failure rates (AFRs) as of Q1 2024, and we’ll dig into the average age of drive failure by model, drive size, and more. Along the way, we’ll share our observations and insights on the data presented and, as always, we look forward to you doing the same in the comments section at the end of the post.
