Nope, fuck that noise. Don't buy a smart tv. If you must buy a TV, get one with out the "smart" part or just dont allow it to connect to the internet. You can get a old pc and plug it in to the tv with a wireless keyboard or a USB IR remote with a frontend like Kodi.

There is an old-ish "hacker" movie called Antitrust (2001) where they more or less do exactly that to expose a major company (basically they are acting like its Microsoft) for their business practices (which included stealing code and killing developers).
