The major push to make every kid in the us a low level programmer was always pointless and the only real goal was to make it so the wages would drop out for programming work. I do agree that a huge amount of this is going to be taken over by AI but one must remember that the way to program that the AI's have been learning from.. are bad examples (in many cases).
