After a vertical takeoff, instead of having the entire wing/engine structure rotate for forward motion like those Ospreys do, something like this with a cockpit that swiveled like a ball turret would seem to be a better design. Those Ospreys crash a lot.

Both systems rely on precise sensors and good software. I don't know how this can still be a problem today.
