YouTube’s crackdown on ad blockers started earlier this year in a limited capacity and slowly ramped up to affect more and more users. As of this week, the practice was in full swing, affecting virtually anyone using an ad blocker around the globe. YouTube says that using an ad blocker violates the platform’s policies."

One part of the problem is the ads are SO BAD. So much scamming and deception. Then there are all the rather sexually explicit ads.

If there was some quality control on the ads played on YouTube, it’d be a little less likely for regular users to go seek any kind of way to block them.

No kidding. Between ublock origin and pi-hole nearly all of the ad's are blocked for me. If they try to force me to watch that garbage ill use a different platform or find some other way to skip them.

I pretty much listen to everything and have methods on all my devices that I’m comfortable with. TubeCasts on iOS, YTDL and Vanced on Android, two programs I can’t think of on my laptop/desktop that I just drag and drop to.

But when I watch YouTube the way they want you to, man is it bad. AI clone voices of Obama trying to get your personal info for super secret $7,500 handouts, “Senior Dating” with women who are like 38-years-old, Siding and Roofing scams, you name it.

At one time I was being lazy and using the YouTube app on my phone. Then the stupid thing was playing some 2-3 minute scrolling text stupid shit while I was lifting weights at the gym. I was in the middle of lifting, and I thought the phone stopped playing music. That also brings up the issue of using YouTube for listening and not watching. Some ads would just play stupid music and leave me clueless as to what they were advertising.
