Goodbye 5G, hello 6G. It's going to solve all of your problems, just like we said 5G would.

It's abundantly clear that phone manufacturers just want to obsolete old devices so they can force customers into shittier and more expensive ones.

Well....yes. It's like 2G. That system can work happily within current systems, but everyone was in such a hurry to turn it off, even though a 2G phone can sit on idle for weeks with a decent battery.

I'm going to be sad when T-Mobile finally turns off the last 2G in the USA next year.

Too bad my StarTac isn't still supported. That was a great phone.

This 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, 6G reminds me of the 80s when stereo manufacturers spent a lot of resources making their systems lower distortion and higher power when the consumer didn't really care.

I want to make a phone call. The sound quality doesn't matter too much. Analog was fine. I like internet connections, 4G seems good enough to me. I have need for higher speeds. Frankly, I'd prefer better battery life.

3G was the best compromise between connection speed and availability of signal. But that does not bring enough of trendiness because current marketing doctrines say not making new stuff stales your company.

We all know who started that trend.
