I've rooted phones before, but never did the full - flash recovery, root, flash custom ROM. It was a bit of a learning curve. If anyone has any questions about how to do it, I can help. Cheers.

As for the why, it is an old tablet and wanted to see if I could get it to run faster / better / more stable ---and it worked! Much better now.

Do you have a way to do this on fire sticks or fire tablets? I hate the bloatware and can't find a way to root the tablets. The firestick i can side load shit, but getting full Control of that dongle would be sweet. Also what are you using, legacy os?

I have not looked at either. Basically you want to go to xda developers forum and type in device model number and go to the sub forum. There you will find if it can be flashed with recovery, rooted and if there are any custom ROMs for it.

Just google Model number ROM and you'll likely find a link to the XDA forum.
