Brother printers are the way to go (for now). I have a MFC since I needed the scanner but its also a laser not a ink printer. If I need something printed in color or on photo paper ill order it from a print shop.

Agree. I've dealt with a few printers in my lifetime. Brother is stress free and reliable, or at least the laser printer I have is. I'll never buy another inkjet [from any manufacturer]in my life, they are all overpriced garbage.

HP products in general are dog shit. Fuck HP.

The older wireless brother printers kind of were a PITA since they locked to a channel. If your accesspoint was able to change channels due to congestion the printer would not re-connect until the ap was back on the same channel or the printer was reconfigured.

At least they fixed that in later updates/firmware. That made life a little hell for some of the printers deployed at remote sites a long time ago. Even then, They were still better and cheaper than everyone else so there is that...

Either way, Unless Brother fucks up majorly they are what I use and have for about a decade now.

I've got one of the Canon ink-well types, so ink refills are cheap. The other main nice thing about it is that the actual print heads are 100% replaceable separately from the ink and are pretty cheap too.

The initial outlay for it is $200 though, I don't think you can get a similar one for much less than that, but it avoids most of the other pitfalls of ink printers.
