thanks i will try this. i run lots of browser protections but ive been using yandex to find shit so i expect its from that. i did install gdflab a image upscaler. and i didnt like how it installed. then i tried to uninstall it and it says i didnt have admin privilege. i did eventually delete it all but maybe not enough.

Besides AVG and bitdefender... It's not just on windows... You have android, macOS, iOS...
Pretty sure he installed a bunch of pirated softwares in the first place and that's where he got it. Or worse, his fucken windows IS a pirated soft lol
