I'm mindful about where I browse and what I install and haven't had issues with any kind of malware for a while. AV is pointless unless you go to (((porn))) sites and/or click randomly around the net to strange websites or install tons of crap downloaded from various places and from various strangers without care or research.
It has been a while for me since I had any issues, so this info might even be outdated or useless.
For malware, I think a scan with Malwarebytes is all that most will need to clean up general garbage that some might pick up.
For worse infections, might need to do a Malwarebyte flash>quick>full scanning sequence, followed by "RogueKiller" scan and delete, then ComboFix, then ADW Cleaner, and a Malwarebytes full pass again. Occasionally check out what is in your startup with something like HijackThis or WhatInStartup to see if something is running at boot time that shouldn't be. Should help with seeing if you even need to do some deep cleaning or if it is just general PC maintenance that is needed to resolve any issues that might be cropping up like slowdowns, long program load times, etc.

Probably some kind of miner or something. I don't know anything about that image upscaling program or where you downloaded it from, but ensure you download the installer for something from the actual source who creates the program and not an installer file provided by someone else. It's still no guarantee, but it will make it less likely that it could have different miners and loggers inserted by a third party.
I recommend programs like:
- Bitsum Process Lasso (in place of task manager, offers persistent process CPU affinity, restraint, priority, throttling, mem trimming, killing, etc.)
- TinyWall (in place of or in combination with Windows firewall - https://tinywall.pados.hu/)
- Blackbird (privacy, security, performance, etc. - https://getblackbird.net/)
Also, I recommend that internet access is always denied via firewall for absolutely everything except programs you specifically allow. Also always have internet completely disabled while running cleaning so an infection doesn't just redownload files mid-cleaning and undo your cleaning efforts before you're even finished.
Save all your important files.
Reimage your drive
Well, I can tell you are running Windows.
1) Get CC cleaner and remove any programs you don't use or need. 2) Check startup and don't let programs you don't need start at windows login. 3) Use the CC cleaner registry cleaner option.
If 1-3 don't work, save your files to a USB stick and do a fresh install of Windows.

Or better yet, a fresh install of Linux.
thanks i will try this. i run lots of browser protections but ive been using yandex to find shit so i expect its from that. i did install gdflab a image upscaler. and i didnt like how it installed. then i tried to uninstall it and it says i didnt have admin privilege. i did eventually delete it all but maybe not enough.

If all you need to get a malware is to browse the web using yandex, then I have bad news for you... Either your entire OS has always been a pile of moronic shit or you turned it into one.
