It's just like with Assange. He brought to light the blatant war crimes of the US in a way that made it clear it was not an isolated event but the general trend. Instead of focusing on the war crimes, the media just focused on the "National Security Threat" leakers posed and did he betray his country.

I'll put it out there in plain black and white for the record. ANY country that pulls the, "We did unspeakable things but you betrayed your loyalty" deserves no loyalty of any man who wishes to call him self a decent human being by any definition. To preserve your "loyalty" to such a country or institution immediately invalidates any moral stance you will ever hope to hold for the past and present.
