They did nothing of the sort. This is just a low melting temperature alloy molded into a LEGO mini figure and moved by magnets from under the table. The figure cannot move on its own, has no articulated joints and cannot do any work at all. The electromagnetic induction coil used to melt the metal will result in a randomly shaped blob of metal which will solidify in only that blob shape. It cannot re-mold itself into its original shape or any other controlled shape for that matter. This is a parlor trick that is being called "science" and "technology" when it deserves neither moniker. It's useless novelty that is very far away from being useful or worthy of being called a robot.
