Unless it is for the sole benefit of the 1% while neglecting and controlling the other 99%.

The 1% can spend their money on whatever the fuck they want.

Electricity generation is a regulated utility, so no they can't. I would prefer it to be an open competitive environment. Regulation only makes things less innovative and more expensive.

This is how you get a government that represents the 1% instead of the constituents that elected them.

Having a government who can decide who can spend their money on what is how that happens.

I can't understand how retards cannot connect the dots. You give government the power to control people's lives and then wonder why your life is being controlled.

In what non-communist universe does someone building their own power source owe you something?

well, we can start in new York state where private businesses are now taking over the coal power plants for their own use. these power plants were built and subsidized using taxpayer money and by the people using the grid. the plants were forced to close due to climate change legislation. you and I can't have access to cheap power that we funded the building of, but big business can.

Exactly, your need a smart meter and a government controlled thermostat because of "climate change" legislation, but rich donors can use coal plants to mine crypto.

When they are doing it with my tax dollars and lobbying my government to pass laws so I cannot build my own power source. They should have to buy their electricity from the same grid as all of us. That way they will use their influence to make sure the entire grid is stable.
