As a Linux user, I don't give a shit.

As a Linux user, you don't need to have updates installed because the typical Linux user is installing a new distro every few weeks anyway.

Only until you find one that suits you. I tried all kinds and settled on Linux Mint. Been running it for a long while now. I still get tempted to try others from time to time; but that is more to see what else is out there and what other distro's might be doing better; not because the one you have doesn't "work". For Windows Updates; they wouldn't need updates to steal your data, you gave it to them by using Windows in the first place.

They sell backdoors and close expired ones. The only thing that gets updated is who has access to your information.

You're a dumbo for using pedo bill's software ATP. Go linux. They make versions that are retard friendly and very capable.

Patching security vulnerabilities and bug fixes for all the shit that comes preinstalled out of the box.

They want to force new "features" on you that are part of M$'s plan to sell something, someday. Security vulnerabilities are also constantly "discovered" (meaning when they get exploited by malware) , so they play a game of whack a mole so your computer continues to work in the face of malware evolution.

A Windows user is complaing about how much Windows sucks but refuses to go to the far superior OS that is Debian Stable Linux.

You'll still need to install security updates but the computer wont take you hostage in the process.

Step into the modern era. Use Arch.

Modern = full of bugs. If you want stable/secure workhorse OS you need to accept older software version branches that are properly maintained.

I didnt ask you to run bleeding edge or even beta branches of software.

I firmly understand using older versions of things often... Hell I have to keep an old AIX 6.x box operating because the app it runs, wont function on AIX 7.x for some freaky reason.

But thinking you need old software for security and stability, without being able to use some more modern things, is ludicrous.

I sure hope so. Linux don't care.

Operating systems are large and complex collections of software, drivers, and firmware. Bugs and design flaws are inevitable. Some bugs are annoyances, like not being able to scroll in a document after closing a some menu popup. Other bugs are security flaws, like being able to bypass a login screen by enabling a specific combination of accessibility features from the username entry field. These are both fictional examples, but these are the sorts of things regular OS updates address.

No. Trojans don't need your permission, and tend not to notify you. Updates happen because the system isn't perfect.

install a different bootloader it will break many of MS updates or what ever the fuck their new malware want you to have on your computer.
