Welcome to Poal!

Thanks!

Only problem with dissenter/gab making their own browser is most people don't want to switch just to use their services.

if they can provide a downloadable and ready to install extension directly from their website that'd go a long way to make it usable. As it is now, you have to download an arcive, unzip it, run through some instructions and in some cases load the plugin manually from the developer menu every time the browser is launched.

It's a complicated mess and most people aren't going to do that unless they provided the ready to install plugins.

I suppose that's what the store is for. I am a bit confused about who Dissenter if for though. Is it supposed to be for dissident right folks which are consciously anti-mainstream? There's nothing wrong with that, but you can't really compete with mainstream browsers by appealing to a niche. The name itself doesn't help. I know this concern has been raised a lot, but it bears repeating because that affects the browser's future.

From what I read, it's supposed to be a "comments section" that you can use your gab account with so you can comment on something without having to do so on the page directly.

Like making a comment on a video that doesn't have comments enabled, or a reddit thread that's locked, etc.

Go to dissenter.com and enter/paste a URL in the text box up on the top right (they don't make it prominent, and the overall site UX/UI isn't that great). Something like reddit.com, and you'll see comments.

I guess it's supposed to be something like disquss but absolutely uncensored.

their implementation leaves a lot to be desired unfortunately.
