I used to really like Kindle's text-to-speech capabilities in the '00s for driving and law mowing and whatnot and owned several that I picked up on ebay because the damn screens were so fragile. They also have an abysmal refresh rate compared to conventional screens. They are only good for reading/signage not video.
Amazon also does it's damnedest to lock out TTS on books that have an audio version (big money) and I would always have to hack that shit, now I just have an android TTS program.
