Tell them to use Brave Search. It's easier than learning SearX.
Brave search is now the default search engine in Brave Mobile as well. So that's also a bonus for mobile.

Yandex is a Russian search engine. They're not blocking much US stuff yet. But you'll at least be able to find Russian information from them for the time being.
Mojeek(mojeek.com) is another option.

Just tried Yandex(yandex.com) as a DDG replacement. Yandex is pretty good. Certainly better than Big G and DDG in finding source information about, e.g., Ukraine.
Bonus points for not suddenly re-spelling Kiev with all of the media sheeple.
Yeah, that's annoying, the respelling and pronunciations of stuff.
