I'm looking to get a home NAS in replacement to an old prebuilt server. I want to be on all the time and quiet.

I'm looking at either getting a 4 bay synology or 4 bay Asustor locker.

I don't want to build my own right now. I want this to sit quietly in the living room not suck up a lot of power.

Who knew? I wonder how many watts it takes to run Linux?

Linux gives power. It is a secret perpetual motion machine. If we can figure out how to harness it then we can save Africa.
