Farmers in rural areas are not well served by ISP's. They need access to faster than dial-up speeds in order to do business these days. Everything's on the web. Most farmers around me switched to satellite because the landline ISP's sucked. The problem with that is satellite doesn't work well in rain or snowfall.

It sucks, but is that isn't something I personally feel I should be subsidizing for them.
