Hi faggots. My questions are what do i need to send video from a tablet to a tv? I have a small 5tb hard drive that is completely full of tv and movies. Do i need a tablet with video out or just a tablet with 2 usb ports? 1 to connect the hard drive to the tablet and 1 to send the video to the tv? Or should i just put the video that I'm going to watch onto the tablet then connect the tablet to the tv? And what kind of cable do i need to send video from a tablet to a tv mounted in my truck? I don't think i can just connect the hard drive directly to the tv since the videos are all different formats and i need something like vlc to play the videos.

Get a firestick and use Kodi and BeeTV for movies and TV shows and install a video player for your saved files and put those files on the firestick and free up the tablet space for other things.

If your tablet it connected through cell, you can create a hotspot with it.

Samsung tablets can easily be hooked to a TV with a 10 dollar android dongle that has USB ports hdmi out and pass-through charging anything tab s will definately do it

Raspberry Pi microcomputer is a small, cheap, energy efficient way to play video on a monitor. No network needed.

In that case, you might have a device that supports HDMI out. Android devices from the past few years generally support this. I'd research the model of tablet or phone you have and if it supports it, buy an adapter to HDMI. I can let you know if you tell me the model. If your device does not support HDMI out, go buy a Chromebook with HDMI out.

if it is an android tablet, you may be able to connect the 5tb hd to the tablet via USB, then get a usb-2-hdmi to bring up the tablet os on the TV. We do this with our kids chromebooks. if you have USB-C, then you don't need a converter, just a usb-c to hdmi cable.

I don't know if this works for apple devices.

The chromebook we have just has usb-a (the large rectangle one) and usb-c (the oval-ish small one). The chromebook came with a cable that has usb-c on one side, and hdmi on the other (but you can get one of these cables from )

you should be able to connect your 5Tb HDD to the usb-a, and browse the videos on the hdd. it may be that you get better performance if you copy the specific movies you are intending to watch onto the chromebook storage.

download VLC player from the play store which will play many different format of videos (it's free and open source).

It depends on the device but I believe the feature is usually called casting if it's over wifi. You might be able connect directly with an HDMI cable but would likely still need to figure out settings on the TV to display the output.

Screencast or screen mirror to the tv. If you don't have a smart tv, look up adapters and/or apps that will help you achieve your goals. Good luck.
