I still watch youtube I just do it with Adnausium on. It fucks with the ads royally and I'm a drain on their server infrastructure for hours on end. It does fucking suck to have to catch streams before they get deleted and deal with all the censorious bullshit and the youtubers bitching about it though.

I still watch youtube, but mostly for music and some niche youtubers I like, however, I use Newpipe, which is a frontend for youtube, without all the bullshit from the official youtube app.

Go to any Beyonce or Miley Cyrus video on YouTube. There won't be a single negative comment. Most of the comments are shill bots, which are likely paid for. Always a similar sentence structure and always "similar" looking and overly praising.

"No better singer out there. I love you Miley!" "Simply the best singer in the world. You're the best, Miley!" "Her songs are truly great! Thank you Miley!" "These songs are timeless! Miley is #1!"

Go to The White House channel and subscribe, and set reminders for their live videos. When you watch their live videos and read the comments, EVERY COMMENT, and I mean EVERY COMMENT**, even from random foreigners in places like Indonesia and Botswana are overtly negative and straight up shitting on Biden and Kamala.

24h later? "Comments have been turned off" and everything is magically gone.

I just tried it with a 2 hour old White House video on my usual browser signed into youtube, it had 51 likes and 1219 dislikes (if you hover over the likes/dislikes it gives supposedly accurate numbers). Then I tried it in a little used browser on a VPN and it said 51 likes with a bare "Dislike" button. I didn't think of hovering when I watched on the VPN, so I fired it up again and now it won't even connect. Correction: NOTHING will connect. I'll copy this comment to a text file to repost later.

Well, it's later now. I had to log out of linux mint and then specify which wifi network to connect to. I've been knocked offline dozens of times for the last 8 months for maybe 5 minute durations while watching youtube.

EDIT: No, the other browser won't show dislikes if you hover, just "I LIKE THIS" or "I DISLIKE THIS". I guess I need to try it on my phone now.
