My previous statement still applies. You don't seem to have a problem with the other end of the cord. The USB-A end that is a standard as a data port. Why aren't you arguing for each manufacturer to provide a different form factor for that?

If a manufacturer wants to use something other than USB-A, that should be their choosing. As their product might need something proprietary that USB cannot provide.
