Sitting on the photovoltaic cells blocks them from receiving light and charging the batteries. This is a retarded virtue signaling monstrosity that fails at all of its purposes. A canopy above the bench would provide shade for people and an unobstructed view of the sun for the PV cells, but yeah let's put them on the seating surface instead. Retards.

In South Korea there are no homeless people sleeping or sitting on the bench all day long. Most of the time that bench is empty.

If they're not, then why put solar USB chargers in them? If nobody is using them, then the concept is useless.
