I love 80s robo voice. I have a few speech carts and I would have to say the best is the It not only has true synthesis but a microphone than you can use for voice input and write programs for. I played all the way through Zork without touching the keyboard, imagine doing that in 1985... Mind blowing. It also makes BBS and IRC waaaay more interesting.

My friend had a BBS on a 2000hd that he wrote a custom module for so when you left a message for the op or on the graffiti wall it would speak it out. He has the flags setup so the modem was silent so you didn't know it was coming either, fun stuff.
