If systems are so fragile that losing a GPS signal could wreak havoc, then that system is not really well designed or fault tolerant.

Those are antique. Most transport aircraft have a database of ground based navaids. They do sensor fusion with GPS, navaids, and INS for navigation. Actual navigation performance is reported as an expected deviation in nautical miles, and is monitored to be less than the required navigation performance for the route.
Oh yes probably, I'm just saying that GPS isn't the only thing out there and that planes won't fall out of the sky if it gets turned off
