ehh people forget that at its core 'ai' is simply 1's and 0's. There is no sentience because AI does not have the ability to reason. Reason is using personal experience and personal thought process to figure out a solution. In a reality where truth is relative there is simply no way to quantify what is reasonable. Because reason is inherently a human attribute. What is reasonable to one is unreasonable to another.
When researchers create an AI they have to program its ability to 'reason' therefore the 'reason' the AI provides is simply an algorithm of its creators reason (in a supervised learning environment) or a pattern recognition program (in a unsupervised learning or cluster analysis model). Even if multiple users are used in supervised learning the program will simply go with what the majority believes as true (even if the info is false).
The media and PR of tech companies would like you to believe "ai" is like the ones you see in the movies. In reality they are way less impressive. They are powerful tools; but with current technologies it is impossible to create a computer that can think for its self. Until programs can rewrite their own source code and formulate thesis's outside of parameters their researchers set I will stand by this statement.
The self-learning sort is that whereof I wrote.
Dualists & moral relativists must burn in The Pit of Fire with their Satanist brethren.
Truth is not relative.
