Worth noting that credit reporting is highly regulated, so they will have to change the law. If it weren't highly regulated, credit reporting bureaus couldn't exist because they would be constantly sued by the people they incorrectly report on. As is commonly explained in late night informercials, some large percentage of credit reports have inaccurate information. They are effectively defaming everyone they report on based on hearsay. This isn't ordinarily legal. But Congress has made it legal for certain companies.
Also most super high ranking jobs run the most invasive background checks next to government. So if you dont toe the line, goodbye, high paying jobs
Like I say, at this point they are very limited on that which they can report. Congress would have to change that.
