On one hand, I'm impressed with the ability to pull off such a feat. On the other, I question why? I've heard of engineers recreating semiconductor hardware before. Again, impressive for someone to do, but why?

80 megaflops is still pretty fast. And I'm guessing these were sequential not parallel. ???

This is someone taking a SBC and sticking it in a container that looks like a miniature Cray tower. They didn’t try and rebuild anything unless taking a NES emulator, installing it on a Pi, and sticking it in a case that looks like a NES is rebuilding a NES.
