Hmmmmm. German. It had me hooked til I got to that tidbit.
This is why they encrypt the whole inbox/connection process. So Tutanota will not have any of the actual data and will not know what's in your emails. They do this because they expected the German government to eventually come after them & they did. Which is why many EU countries & Russia are trying to ban encrypted apps & services.
Maybe encrypted i2p email would be more of what you're looking for. https://thetinhat.com/tutorials/messaging/i2pbote.html
I hope I could help.
I've been dealing with this myself for over a decade now after I was hacked once. Back then I used to use the free Hushmail accounts as burner emails but that's not an option anymore.
So I set up same of my old/private Hotmail accounts with Outlook. Except that I set up PGP to work with Outlook so I could encrypt anything sensitive before it left my system. I also have a email certificate from Comodo. Now I actually use encrypted chat apps, Telegram, for most of my communication because of the ease of use for other people.
Setting up an i2p inbox for some future projects is on my list of things to do. But I'm a little over loaded right now.
