Whoosh.

YOU STILL DID NOT READ my post.

The tactic is simple and a famous Harvard Business School tactic.

4 years is optimal for max/min of a bait and switch service model.

YOU DID NOT READ, and I am not wrong.

So in four years, when my current setup is obsolete and competitors have responded, I will reassess my options and make the right choice for me.

Why do you think they are using a bait and switch model? Do you think that the cell phone towers will get pulled down and that those companies will no longer invest in their offerings?

competitors have responded

bwah hah hah hah!!!!! competitors????

You still dont know the business tactic.

The only competition will be 4 years behind (space constellation takes 4 years from scratch) and undercut them on price not 90% but by only 40%, and the prices will still be about 10 times the current price you pay now!!!!

Its a business trick as old as time.

The only way to win is to use it for 4 years and move away to a place with internet. Prices will not drop until 8 years from today.

You are assuming that the only alternative to starlink is other space based internet.

In my area you can either pay 75$ for 100 gigs at 3.5mbps or now I have starlink for 100$.

If space based internet really does effect the bottom line of the cell phone companies servicing my area, they will increase data caps and maybe upgrade the speed.

I chose the more expensive option. Consumers don't always go for the lowest price. Maybe that is how you base your consumer decisions but for internet at my lake house this one it was not cost. I don't even visit it through the winter.

I already agreed that costs will go up. A new car no longer costs 725$.

Your idea of what it means to win is laughable.
