Using Windows 10 Pro. My m.2 SSD drive gets about 450 MB/s random access read/write performance in benchmarks. But in real-world usage peaks out at about 50.I'm using a Ryzen 3800x and I've assigned 4 PCIE lanes. Why is my real-world performance so bad and how can I improve it?

Check your motherboard's user guide settings to make sure the M.2 port isn't shared with another SATA device. If that's the case, move your SATA device to another port to free the PCIe lanes for the M.2 port.
