not to mention the manufacturing process for the batteries emits carbon equal to driving a conventional car 80,000 miles.

[–] 1 pt

And the batteries have to be replaced at some point.

its a charade. like everything they do

Almost like an engine.

You replace the engine in your car often, yes?

not to mention the manufacturing process for the batteries emits carbon equal to driving a conventional car 80,000 miles.

That's not accurate. Manufacturing lithium batteries releases about 150-200 kg CO2 per kWh of battery capacity. A car with a 60 kWh battery will be responsible for 12,000 kg of CO2. The average MPG of all automobiles in the United States is 25. Every 25 miles releases about 8.8 kg of CO2. So the math is 12,000 kg / 8.8 kg = 1,364. It takes 1,364 gallons of gas to emit as much CO2 as manufacturing a 60 kWh battery. At 25 mpg that's 34,100 miles. Electric car batteries are warranted for at least 100,000 miles, and many for 150,000, so over it's lifetime a battery will produce about 75% less CO2 emissions than a gasoline car. Even when a battery is considered "dead" it has 70% of its capacity left, allowing a formerly 250 miles per charge car to go 175 miles on a charge.

Also the batteries are mined from the Earth. There is always an ecological impact to mine and to produce the vehicle.

Mined from the earth once, or every day for the life of the vehicle like gas?

Gasoline isn't mined from the Earth. It is refined from crude oil.

There are billions of cars, you'll have to mine batteries for a very long time to increase the total global scale.

Also CO2 is excellent for vegetation and increase in CO2 is not a volume knob for global temperatures: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=-2IBXeypbmU

So there is no need to force us into EVs for the sake of muh CO2, which is currently the narrative.

And where does that come from that isn't from the Earth?

What does that have to do with anything? Are you saying that because plants use carbon that it can't absorb infrared radiation?

Thing is all this green tech is produced, delivers, and installed using petroleum products. Wind mills and solar panels are not the solution to our future energy needs. New tech coming that will fix our energy issues forever. And people gonna be pissed when they learn to how long ago gas burning cars actually became obsolete.

Best way to lower energy consumption is to remove illegals from the country. Ideally removing all niggers would be preferred.

The same people advocating migration are advocating increase in energy usage and more crowded cities as well as roads.

Unless your house has solar panel arrays...but yes, fuck golf carts.

Where in the US is 100% of electricity produced by coal?
