**The mac VLC versions are all (each release) , buggy as hell.** They accidentally play famous known non media files and if you are in "looped playback repeat" mode you get caught in a buggy loop and cannot quit the VLC player!!!! Only using system to force abort kills it after 4 seconds for SIGABORT to pend. Proof?: Try to play the most common file found on a Macintosh, a file hidden in almost every folder (Directory) with the title of : ~~~ .DS_Store ~~~ playing ".DS_Store" when in loop playback mode will hang all versions of VLC Or drop a folder of mps on VLC that have a famous playlist file accidentally present... a .M3u file. That common mp3 playlist file (a .M3u file) will totally fuck up your desire to play a list of intended dropped audio files. This RUINS drag and drop of music folders. many other things common to the video world fuck up VLC like .nzb usenet files used to get movies. yup ... fucking nzb files. VLC coders must be chin-tapping drooling retards. and that not the only type of bugs... VLC never uses the preferences correctly and self-corrupts audio equalizer band settings if you launch an earlier less buggy mac release, and the hidden non-mac-style retarded preferences of VLC cannot be reset!!!!!!! FULL file scrub delete and deinstall is the only way to allow audio preferences back. This bug is in this months version still. resizing windows using mouse drag broke this month in VLC for mac, if using a second monitor at a different resolution and the window of VLC is wholly on the second monitor, but the VLC playlist window remains on the main system monitor. Yup... VLC keeps adding bugs in each release. and VLC for windows until 10 years ago was a dumpster fire, and checking archived bug-fix notes will prove that. **VLC IS A BUGGY SHITTY PROGRAM, even if it is popular** ============== It spies on you and records data to your drive of media you store on encrypted offline volumes... specifically the filenames and paths. It suspiciously stores your playback history abnormally tucked away. Its ALWAYS trying to connect to a data sharing partner "Spotify" even if you have all remote snitch and spy off. No packets get through, but the fact it tries all the time so hard ,(check your full pedantic unix logs), is shocking to me. **VLC is kiked by feds I think.**
