Comparing South Africa to China is a non-starter, SA is a total shithole where rob-murder-rape-torture in no particular order is a good possibility everyday. I doubt he despises the culture, I think he's just come to the realization that the Chinese government will never make room for him, eg. giving him citizenship, and he will always been seen as an outsider and eventually pushed out (not allowed to work for example). I'm actually surprised he didn't make the move earlier to Taiwan where that's possible, but who knows (this pun makes sense too). It's easy to say he shouldn't criticize because he's a "guest" of sorts, but the Chinese sure as hell aren't criticizing because they're shut out online and/or in jail depending on their reach. He's also criticizing from the context of a foreigner which is of interest to foreigners. Chinks come here, criticize, get citizenship and vote, so tit-for-tat I would say. The criticism stings because it's true. They should do better, and so should we.
