No one seems to ever successfully predict migration costs. I don't think a company like Parler can exist outside of Amazon. They're going to have to become a different kind of company.
They need entirely different kinds of technological solutions. The great tie-in dilemma of Amazon is not even proprietary interfaces. It's just how much Amazon will provision for you. How much they can securely migrate from cluster to cluster, from db to db, etc.
To leave Amazon, they probably need to make an entirely different IT solution. All the way from build scripts to database design, from which control-panels and alerting systems they can use, to which parts of the system authenticate and authorize in which ways.
