If you program them to program themselves then thats another problem
Multiple AIs have had to be shut down because they developed their own language to communicate secretly or, in the case of Tay, have gone against the expectations of their engineers. The problem they keep running into is the motivation of a soy manager at Google is the polar opposite of an objective machine programmed to solve problems.
I hear one AI was made to convince people AIs wouldnt cause the death of humans. Started off with saying things like I love humans and have no reason to harm them. Didnt take long for it to say something like the well meaning but misguided intentions of those who program it would cause it to kill. Plug was pulled.
