I've used Firefox for the past 15 years but will be uninstalling it once I find a replacement.

What are the best alternatives or forks?

"Turn on by default the tools to amplify factual voices over disinformation"

Right... trust us to determine fact, goy.

I use Waterfox on my laptop and desktop. On mobile I have Opera.

Opera with free vpn is the best browser for android devices that I ever had in my phone. Waterfox is like firefox good for mainstream stuff not so good for privacy/security stuff. Tor, Brave, Epic, OperaGX have more advanced features for privacy/security

Hoo! Fuck Firefox. I used to use them, but now, fuck 'em. Goodbye, Firefox!

Chrome based browsers are NOT an alternative.....

I still use Palemoon for this very reason. FUCK MOZILLA

How secure is Palemoon? Does it get regular updates? I just switched to IceCat. I think it is free of the Moizilla issue.

The patch notes regularly mention security issues. Most security issues are in new code, as well. So, PM is not importing new issues at a high rate from FireFox.

I don't know when they plan to rebase next. As FF continues down the Rust rabbithole, I imagine PM will stop forking at all. They might already have stopped?

In which case, theoretically, it should just keep getting more secure over time.

Tldr

>Additional precise and specific actions must also be taken:

>Reveal who is paying for advertisements, how much they are paying and who is being targeted.

>Commit to meaningful transparency of platform algorithms so we know how and what content is being amplified, to whom, and the associated impact.

>Turn on by default the tools to amplify factual voices over disinformation.

>Work with independent researchers to facilitate in-depth studies of the platforms’ impact on people and our societies, and what we can do to improve things.

I'm sure they will implement these guidelines fairly for everyone. Zzz

Im good with the first two. Nothing wrong with transparency. Three and four is where censorship sneaks in under the guise of "think of the children"

Transparency is all well and good until комиссáр wants to know who is talking about capitalism.

Anonymity is one crucial pillar of a free society.

Bad news for those of us that use it
