It's kind of odd that crypto is driving this. ASIC chips are the preferred miners now. That should relieve pressure from GPUs.
Took my son forever to get his 2060S. It wasn't even really the one he wanted but everything was out of stock. I ordered the first one I got a back in stock email from via Newegg.
I built a machine a few years ago as Win7 was going out. It was difficult to get something decent then, doesn't look like the pressure has eased any.
I was lucky when I got my 2080S, didn't have much problem finding a nice card. That was about 14 months ago.
There were decent cards out there when I got mine, just the prices were not what I had in mind. I guess it's all in what you want to spend, could probably pick up a 2-yo high-end card now pretty cheap.
Tariffs. Nothing new. Looks like I'll be making a huge gain on a bunch of 1650s that I bought earlier in the year.
