This will get you closest out of the box to a reference level color accurate picture quality. You will be watching content as the director intended you to see their art. It will look dull and dim until your eyes adjust but once they do if you switch back to your old settings everything will look all wrong. You will never go back to that picture that "pops". Most TVs come with all kinds of artificial picture enhancements and processing turned on because consumers are attracted to a picture that is bright and vivid. It's a trick to get you to buy the TV. This may look better to you initially or if you do a quick side-by-side comparison with movie setting but you are missing out on so much subtle detail and quality of content. Try this: Watch a full movie in cinema or movie mode without changing it at all. You will start to notice how much better it looks than the current settings you have been using. When you switch back to your old settings after the movie everything will look unnatural and artificial in comparison.
