If I buy one of those I'd definitely go for the maximum RAM

Pricing difference isn't worth the permanent "I should have"

For instance, when it comes to the model 4

$75.00 Out Of Stock | ROCK Pi 4 Model B 4GB https://www.seeedstudio.com/ROCK-Pi-4-Model-B-4GB-p-4137.html

$59.00 10+ In Stock | ROCK Pi 4 Model B 2GB https://www.seeedstudio.com/ROCK-Pi-4-Model-B-2GB-p-4139.html

That's like 16 bucks difference

For twice as much RAM...

No brainer if you ask me

Also I prefer the B over the C https://www.seeedstudio.com/ROCK-PI-4-Model-C-p-4658.html

The C has micro HDMI... The lamest shit ever invented since joe biden

Ok it's micro, but it's too micro, it's micro to the point it's fragile. And you always end up carrying an adaptaer for normal hdmi cable anyway so it defeats the purpose of "micro" in the end

Even 4GB on Win10 is going to be a not-so-great experience. If they offered one that had 8, that would be useful - but only if you had a use case for a Win10 machine in a RPi form factor. I can see this having a use in light commercial embedded equipment, like signage kiosks and the like, but desktop is going to be a dog. I would bet that trying to use a modern browser on this would be an interesting experience.

And yes, Micro HDMI is Satan's handiwork and whomever thought of that has a special place in hell where they're trying to forever hook up equipment but have nothing but the last-gen version of that particular cable available.

Yes, but it's not like I'm going to install a full blown win10, rather a custom minimal debian based i3wm distro, with thunar for the sake of accuracy

That's just how I like shits to be in the end, nothing's faster to switch from one task to the next, no BS in between https://youtu.be/AzWEu4IWmnY?t=55

But I digress

Main advantage I see when it comes to this one and the rest, is that it's a "real" computer, small, but "complete", as in there's no such thing as "you can't use mass storage bigger than X" type of stuffs.... And that alone, is the one thing worth considering when it comes to it, IMO

It's perfect for a "media center". As in playing movies up to 1080p, and emulators up to (maybe) playstation1. This one last bit (PS1/PSX) needs to be verified though, but there are ways

Also, if it can run zdoom decently... I say it's fucken great for a media center at that price

Yeah, if you're going to put a real x86 Linux distro on it, it should work well enough.
