Maybe NordVPN is a honeypot; but this article offers no proof, just a bunch of what-ifs and speculation. It's pretty weak to just say "they spend x on marketing and fake reviews so they're probably working for the man".

I've seen their TV ads, and if anything, they're marketing towards gullible boomers who think their bank accounts will be hacked without a VPN, and not the 'dark market' that govt agencies would be interested in.

A scam? Yes probably - but if you want to assert something more nefarious, at least show the evidence.

Edit: Evidence provided in comments

Here's a more updated story of the situation. It goes much deeper and there is a current data-mining lawsuit. http://vpnscam.com/hola-vpn-and-nordvpn-partners-in-data-mining-bot-network/

Oh interesting - the 2nd article definitely has more substance to it. I guess I'm satisfied.
